Hi all, can anyone please advise the cheapest (legit) way to purchase Microsoft Office software?

I work as a self-employed contractor and have just picked up a new laptop, it has Windows 7 on it, but no Office software and I need Excel and Word (but not Access, Outlook or the other Pro software), preferably 2010 versions or later.

Thanks in advance for any help offered. smile

If you contract for a large company and they have given you a valid email address you could have got any MS Office Pro version over the years for about £20 a time.

The offers normally only last a few months after the latest release though, so you will be more than likely out of luck now.

Well known auction site is your next best bet.

Contractor? Office365, through the company books, very little per month, latest software for erm, nowt, effectively. I suspect if you actually work it out, the time you spend in Trap 2 is the time it takes to earn the subscription.

I use OpenOffice.org. Free and compatible.

As said above, unless you must have MS Office, then Open office is free and almost identical for most peoples basic uses.
