Hi,

I have my media (mainly music but movies/TV shows as well) on a WD MyCloud and I'm after the right client software to play this stuff.

At the moment my wife and I use (and quite like) Plex, but this requires me to leave a laptop running for the Plex server. Now my media is on the WD drive, I assume I can use a DLNA client and bypass Plex/Laptop completely?

My first requirement is an app that will play my media on my iPhone (mainly music when I am away from home).
Secondly I want to be able to cast my media to a Chromecast.
And lastly, recommendations of a player I could have on my work laptop to watch the movies etc remotely would also be useful.

Any thoughts much appreciated.

WD MyCloud has a Twonky Server built in - if you can't 'see' it already I think it's probably just question of enabling media sharing via the web config interface!
