iPad to TV wireless

Since ios8 I can't connect my iPad to the tv. I tried a Chromecast but I couldn't get it to connect
What options are there?
Roku?
Apple TV?
Cable

Help please just want to see YouTube iPlayer etc.

So do I works a treat, though weirdly since ios8 I have to use AirPlay as the Apple TV icon has vanished? Updating to an iPad air 2 tomorrow so will be interesting to see if cartoon HD is still there??
