Plusnet and downloads - driving me mad

I'm with BT, FTTC unlimited and I get 73 MBit/sec down all day and all night, plus 16MBit upload all day and all night. It's only £25 a month on top of basic line rental, that's so cheap for such high bandwidth. BT have the biggest and best network UK wide, they have the greatest bandwidth at peering points - they are the one ISP which every CDN wants to peer with and they are have the greatest investment in their infrastructure.
If you want to save £4 a month then you'll just have to put up with poor service or traffic shaping. I'm not saying BT are perfect, their customer service is no better than Virgin Media but at least they have a massive investment budget and they do have, in reality, the best network in the UK which is really, what you're buying.
