Evening!

Not sure if there has been threads created surrounding the problem im experiencing but as I post this, the battery in my Tab 2 is draining unusually fast.
Its been happening for a couple of days now where from 100%, im only getting (if im lucky) around 4 hours battery use.
From new I was getting a couple of days worth of general browsing and even hours of videos with the battery percentage hardly flinching.
Just typing this post alone has eaten a good chunk of percent. Ive been forced to constantly run a low screen brightness and every energy saving thing turned on including the WiFi turning off when in sleep mode.
Not touching it for an hour still eats around 20%!!
Google is fairly useless so I'm trusting faithful PH to offer help.

Cheers
Swifty

If you go to settings then Battery it should show you what is using the most juice from the battery mine has been on for 10 hr 26mins and is down to 67% it's about 3 years old.

Have you installed any new apps recently.

hi!
Apparantly the screen is the biggest battery muncher on the tab according to the stats.
Ive hardly had the screen much past half way brightness throughout its 3 year life and instantly turned off all animations as I found them irritating just as I did with my galaxy phone.
No new apps recently and never game on it either. Just use it for Facebook, emails and browsing the web.
Bit of a nuisance :/
Just viewed a video on battery resetting from dead via a 30 second power button press and a 2 minute charge from the wall and another 30 second power button press from charging.
Sounds simple enough and im about out of juice anyway.

cheers smile

That does sound like a quick battery drain.
Just checked mine and if I press on the screen section under battery it says the screen has been on for 2hr 29min and is at about 45% brightness.

If you don't find another solution. I recently did a factory reset set on mine then re loaded from my Google account but just the apps I use a lot. It made a big difference to the battery and also how slick it feels.
Do you have a micro sd card in it? I had one in my Galaxy S2 that just started to cause battery drain. This was confirmed by SanDisk as some fault with Samsung devices so they sent me a new one.
