Due an upgrade around march time, been very happy with my original one M7, and the wife has the second Gen M8, just seen details of the third Gen M9 version so very tempted and think it will be first choice, any one else getting one (excuse the pun)

Apologies if this has been covered already.

No one? Surprised seeing how much interest the imminent launch of the M8 created.

IMHO the problem is mobile phones don't advance as fast as they used to.

A slightly better screen, and a faster processor doesn't warrant a £500 spend over an existing M8, when the software will be largely identical.

Years ago, a new phone meant gaining new features, whereas nowadays they all have decent cameras, GPS, internet and social media access, games etc etc smile

What he said.

I'll upgrade mine at the end of my 2 year contract. I can't see there being anything new coming out before then that will really get my mouth watering.

It will allegedly have a proper camera on it this time though so that might be incentive enough for me to upgrade from my M8, depending what I can get second hand for mine...

I'm debating whether to wait for the M9, having used all the available memory on my 4s, or just go for a M8 as it doesn't look like its a step change.

I have an M7, and its still going strong.

I'll see what the M10 is like next year. Besides the camera I couldn't ask for anything more.

This article popped up today with some 'real' shots of the new M9. If it does end up looking like this it could end up being one mighty fine looking phone.

That looks sweet. I'm glad that HTC seem to be doing well financially at the moment. There phones really look very nice.

I'm sticking with my M7 for the time being though. If it aint broke don't fix it. thumbup

I'm torn with that also, as my M7 still works exactly as I want it to and is still the best phone I've had and very pleased with it, but its the magpie in me that wants the shiney new thing.

Will admit that the wife has the M8 and I don't really look at that and think want ....weird.

Will be upgrading. On an M7, perfectly happy with it, but middle child was promised it, and has dutifully kept her Desire S in perfect order, and that is getting on a bit now biggrin

Yeah I don't think I'll have the spare dosh this year, so will wait and see what happens next year. So long as nothing happens to my M7 I couldn't ask for anything more at the moment.

I mean the thing is, you know that this new one will have at least 3gb of RAM, but my M7 with 1gb (I think its that much) never has any slow down or any problems.

If it does have a proper camera then it will be me 1st in the queue on release day.

I had an M8 for a day and the camera just wasn't up to the job compared to an old iPhone 4s so it went back.

The M7 and M8 were beautiful phones compared to the Note 3 I have, which is an ugly but functionally comprehensive brute of a phone.

The camera is the one thing I'm a bit disappointed in in the M9. I really liked the Duo camera, I thought it took great pictures (if maybe not quite as good as the very best phones) and it was something a bit different. It would be nice if they could have another go to get it right, third time lucky and all that. Then there were the cool things you could possibly do with a stereo camera, but I guess it just wasn't to be. Ah well.
