We have an old Denon micro system in our bedroom, lovely little thing but a PITA having to play CD's instead of being able to stream music to it from the NAS.

What would be the easiest/cheapest option to enable it to stream? Was thinking about a cheap 7" Android tablet but it's a bit of a faff really, anything better/easier out there? Maybe a bluetooth thingy thn stream to it from a bluetooth smart phone?

Seems a shame to ditch the thing.

I move around a lot and so have a Sonos Play 1, and a Sonos Connect, but recently I have just bought a Bose Mini

http://www.thomann.de/gb/bose_soundlink_mini.htm?s...

It's like a mini sound bar, has great base and separation for its size and would sit in its cradle in your bedroom but could go outside for a BBQ, or a hotel when you are on the move. It connects to an iPad in a blink via Bluetooth and would be fantastic with iTunes Match and BBC Radio iPlayer. I use Amazon iCloud as their service works well with Sonos, but iTunes Match is better.

Raspberry Pi and one of the many audio streaming solutions.
I'd personally go with something Squeezebox based as I already have a couple of the hardware players so can do multi room.

Just waiting for delivery on one of these- great reviews on Amazon UK and US. Gotta be worth a look at £13.99.

Certainly will, I use the older version with my Denon, just need to have a spare analogue in.

If the Denon in question doesn't have a spare analogue input, then similar adapters are available with Digital (Optical usually) output.

I use a old tablet to stream from my NAS / Spotify, and also TuneIn Radio etc

You could use a smartphone instead of a tablet, and at times I do just that.

Well, it arrived today, 5mins to set up (used a half decent RCA to RCA cable rather than one supplied) & voila, internet radio & music from NAS at my fingertips smile

Best £30 I've spent this week smile

We have a spare Nokia Windows phone knocking around, may use that as a dedicated controller to save having to connect mine or my OH's phone all the time, the only other thing is the bright blue light it gives out, we sleep in a very dark room & that thing lit it up a treat lol! It will stay off unless we need to use it biggrin

Well the dedicated controller works well except being Win7.5 it doesn't support iPlayer so no Radio 1 or 2 unless I can work ou how to play it through DS Audio.

Wish I'd done this ages ago! May buy another for my Roksan now , long term though some bluetooth surround speakers may be a better idea?
