If you'd like one it would save me the hassle of eBay!
Is it unlocked and updated as above? If so I could well be interested.
I've only tried an O2 SIM card with it so I can't help there.

I'll dig it out at the weekend and check for updates and let you know.

Part of what made me like the idea of it was that I have lots of paid apps from Amazon anyway. I found the interface attractive but ultimately I preferred the Z-Series Sonys I had for hardware reasons.

Sorry for the slow response - I can't really splash the cash at the mo - so if Burg is after it then, I will move out of the way.

As long as it can work on 3 I'm up for it.

I've updated it to the latest version but I don't have any SIM other than O2 to test it on. Is there any other way to check if it will work on other networks?

I'm in Bournville. I notice that you're in Birmingham - anywhere near?

Also I've just looked at your garage - 65 grand for a Volkswagen Jetta? eek

Back up to £299 on Amazon, must use the same memory supplier as Apple as it's an extra £70 for 64gb.

Very odd sales strategy, it will be back down in a few days in sure.

If someone did a bit of thinking and sold these full unlocked for just over £100 I'm sure they would sell by the boat load.

They sell them in America unlocked and occasionally they go down to $149 (although at $449 at the moment).

And as if by magic, down to US$179 on Amazon.com today.

I'd be sorely tempted to give these another crack, if they actually can be unlocked from O2 with the latest update.

I never understood the sense in tying them to a carrier when you're trying to shift stock.

Well it has arrived, thanks Mr RobinBanks.

Looks nice, didn't read properly so didn't realise it was a nano sim. Ah well it will wait till someone takes me to town and I can get a sim to try.

I still like the moving lock screen. It really isn't bad, but I've just got no need for it at all. I originally bought it as an experiment.

Same here, something to,occupy my boredom whilst off work.

Strange 'monkey' app does show what it can do with 3D. Lock screen is excellent. No actual use for anything but do look great. Also extremely loud. Haven't tried audio yet, wonder if it will run my headphones sans amp?

Not as good with synching to other Amazon Fire HDX as I expected. Was primary idea for the wife to use it as she gets on really well with Fire OS on pad.

Camera seems pretty decent too, slightly annoying as same button for FireFly app.

Gets quite warm, but then it's a powerful little thing and certainly not as hot running as Limia 1020.

Despite what some have said the phone is still locked with the latest firmware.
Local phone stalls appear unable to unlock at present and I'm very dubious of the online ones.

I have just seen Amazon UK have dropped the price of these for today from £399 to £99 (with no contract).

I know it has mixed reviews but at a hundred quid seems like a bit of an absolute bargain for anyone interested.

Just popped up on the Amazon home page that the 64gb model is on offer at £99 for anyone interested...

Still not used mine. Still locked to bloody O2.
Allegedly Tesco mobile sims are O2, just much cheaper. For some bizarre reason a nan sim cost £5 month more. Still the Appleites like to pay more so maybe that's why.
Why on earth did they pick nano?
And why lock the bloody thing.

Starting to become clear why they do a flash £99 sale!
Shame - it looked like a good device!
