For me, it's an epic fail leaving out the MicroSD card slot and replaceable battery. These were two things that made the Samsung different over iPhone.

I'm still using my S4 and wondering whether the S6 was worth the wait.

I've got an S5, after having an S3. The reason I go for these phones is I have ~35gb music on the card. I see the removable battery as a plus, although I must admit I've never replaced it.

I just missed the Sony Z3 coming out when I got the S5, but would certainly look that way (maybe a Z4 compact if the screen gets too big). Or even a windows phone.

No microSD? I missed that.

I won't bother with this then.

Samsung may start losing serious sales to HTC here. As has been said above, the SD slot and removeable battery were some of Samsungs big advantages, and now they are gone. I understand not having a removeable battery but no SD card slot? Crazy.

It looks good, but if the glass back is anything like other glass backs it's going to be impossible to put down on any non level surface without it sliding off. The glass backs on the iPhone 4 and Nexus 4 looked and felt great but were a little impractical.

I can't wait to see which phone the reviewers think is better, the HTC or the Samsung!

You can get a 128gb version of the phone.

But I would rather an sd slot.

The edge one looks useless just makes it mroe difficult to hold the phone.

The problem with phones that have lots of onboard storage is that their cost is disproportionate. tech radar reckon the 128gb one might be over £700!

The stupid thing about this is that they've gone to the new materials because the idiots all whinge about them being plastic.
Plastic is a good material, it bends, flexes and then returns to its original shape. Metal does not - reference the iphones that bend and stay bent if you dare look at them.

I can see this being a big fk up for Samsung if their phones bend because the "we hate plastic" brigade will be "don't buy Samsung, they only know how to make plastic phones".

Samsung will lose the customers who like the SD card slot and unless its spot on they won't get the customers they are trying to attract.

The Edge one is very nice to hold. I will be switching from Note 4 today.

The S6 propaganda machine is well and truly in motion now. There were even cringey "news channel" style adverts "reporting" on the new models this morning.

2015 has shown that a lot of the manufacturers are running out of steam with regards to innovation at the moment. This years new models seem to be just incremental updates, both from HTC and Samsung. Something which Apple have done well out of, but I don't know if the android competitors can keep up.

We still haven't seen an Android phone which can trump the iPhone's camera just yet....

On it's own, it's not a good enough feature for me anyway. I considered the 1020 Nokia thing but Windows phone didnt have a couple of apps that I need, they were only developed on Android or iOS, and to be fair, they were bespoke.

I havent seen anything since the Galaxy S4/iPhone 5S sort of time, maybe even earlier that made me sit up and look, they're all broadly similar in use, experience, battery life is assumed to be a day or so.

You should really be comparing the S6 camer to an iPhone 6 not 5

We still haven't seen a phone that can even begin to match the Nokia 808 for all round stills ability. The iPhones camera is okay, but not really any better than anything from Sony or Samsung.

What's the 'real world' battery life like?

The S6 vs the One M9 is going to be an interesting comparison.

Need a new phone, tempting. Any other suggestions?
Yup, me too. I was planning to get the One M9, but will have a look at the Galaxy S6 now too.

I'm well overdue an upgrade - still using my Galaxy S. And no, I haven't forgotten a number on that, it's about 5+ yrs old smile. Still going strong, just needed a new battery about a year ago. Just getting a little slow on some websites now biggrin
I'm due an upgrade soon (HTC One M7 at the mo) and although I always plan to have a look around, I was pretty much set on getting an One M9. This looks lovely though and I look forward to the comparison.

This. I'm well and truly out.
Both of those things are a must for me: microSD slot to avoid the extortionate onboard memory upgrade costs and replaceable battery because I travel a lot and a spare battery or two is really useful. Not to mention batteries degrade over time and in a couple of years the battery life will be terrible.

For me the S6 Edge is stand out, I like it a lot!

On my S4/S5, I've never changed my battery or put in an additional SD cards, so this doesn't really bother me.

The phone is 32GB minimum (double that of S5 as standard) so not sure why all the fuss on storage.

Wireless charging/better camera and better screen - win win!
