I currently use Logitech MX5500 keyboard + mouse combo. The mouse is great, ergonomic and very comfy use over long periods. However the keyboard is in a poorly state now with some keys sticking. There are some tiny keys which meant they are not serviceable.

Looking for the next upgrade and would like some recommendations please. I don't game a lot and mostly browse the web so would look for a keyboard with nice media controls/funcationality like current MX 5500. Don't mind wired or wireless although prefer wireless if there's an option with decent battery life.

Keyboard has to be fairly durable as I share desk with missus (and kids...)

Over to you PH!

I'd always go for something Microsoft or Logitech, both make lovely bits of peripherals at a lot of price points.

For the keyboard, what style are you looking? Multimedia I get, but I mean do you prefer a more "classic" keyboard or a more flat laptop style one?
The laptop style ones have the advantage they are a lot less noisy, but they're not to everyone's liking.

Got logitech k'board and mouse. Both wireless. The keyboard is solar powered, so that's good.

I use rechargeables in the mouse. Probably recharge once every 2/3 months.

Hmmm, never thought of that. I've bought this around s year ago but lost the receipt... it's s decent (and fairly costly) keyboard but some of the keys were not functioning properly...

Do you mind to expand a little on your comment?

I don't game as much as I used to anymore so would prefer a more multimedia focussed keyboard. Don't really want an oversized one, most important is durability and quality. It would be nice to have one which is like my laptop which is sealed so you won't get dust or stuff in between keys. Tempted by one I saw with rainbow lights but not sure how practical is that.

The mouse that came with my MX5500 is pretty good and very customisable with shortcut buttons however the battery life is not that good. (3 days avg)

Budget would be from £50-£150 so would like any recommendations please. Instead of picking up from store I would shop online now for more choices so feedback is important as I can't try it out.

I use this one. At least three metres range, the KB has not yet needed a replacement battery, the mouse has had one new set in 8 months.
