Android Tablet - Chinese Import vs. Mainstream Brands?

Probably going to be in the market for an Android Tablet soon. Want something with ~10 inch screen of at least HD resolution (1920x1080).

Would probably go for a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 but I've seen the websites like Chinavasion where you can get so fairly reasonable looking tablets for less than half the cost of the Samsung.

What are they like in reality? Any recommendations?

I've only ever seen one and it was appalling quality my old HTC from 7 odd years ago was better. May not all be like that however.

I bought a cheap tablet from Amazon for work,£79 Ittechnologyuk,10.2 inch,Kitkat operating system,got to say finding it hard to knock it,does everything on the tin.

I have seen some recent ones. . The boat problems have been poor processor, small ram, little internal memory and the screen quality is awful compared to a good tablet.

I got one from Amazon for £70 that does the job ok. It's not fantastic but does the usual tasks and plays the odd game ok. It would all depend on what you want it for and it's primary use. The Galaxy Tab 3 is not much more expensive now then for a little more you have the Kindle, Hudl etc.

How's it handle 3D games?

Yep that's the one,sorry no idea about the gaming capability side of things......in fact to be honest I have no idea what 3D gaming is.

They do work. I bought this one for my mother as a trial:

(she has a Nexus 10 now, but this worked well enough on a get-what-you-pay-for scale)

Just check the buyer reviews on Amazon - if it gets hundreds of 5* reviews it is probably okay.
