"Hola" Chrome plug in - works every time provided you have an ok internet connection and it's free.

I can recommend https://www.my-private-network.co.uk if you just need to access UK tv from abroad on a Windows box

hola

Use it all over the world with zero issues. Some sites don't like chrome, so as a back up I have it firefox with it installed too.

I use ZenMate with Chrome, and occasionally Hola with Firefox.

IPVanish works well for 8$ a month ... PC/IOS/Android all work just fine for Sky etc etc

I'm using SmartDNS at the moment (2 week trial) and it seems to work fine on my TP-Link router with iPlayer.

I find smartdns to be very patchy. I did use unlock-us for a while but they don't support Amazon instant which was a deal breaker for me.

Do these tk well? Going away for an extended period this year so on-demand iPlayer would be amazing.

Zenmate has been spot onand I've been abroad since January using it.
Might have to change soon though with Chrome stopping support for Silverlight.
