Has anybody got one casting fine?

Getting mixed reports online as to if they actually work. Can't find a list of compatible devices on the chrome cast site.

I use Chromecast with my Galaxy Note 3 and it works fine - the only issue I seem to have is when the wireless network in my house lets it down. My view is that they are ok if you just want the ability to be able to access content where you wouldn't otherwise be able to and accept some degredation of quality on occasion if your wifi doesn't want to play ball. They are not a device I would rely on for watching a full length feature film due to possible disconnects or quality drop out. Not a bad device to have around for the price though.

Ideally I want to use it to stream films/programs from the tablet. I do have fibre optic broadband with speeds rarely dropping below 40/50MB

I cast to my Chromecast from my Galaxy S5, Windows 8 tablet and an HP laptop (the latter two from a tab in Chrome). It also works with my son's Moto G and Hudl 2 and my daughter's Hudl 1 so I doubt you'll have any problem.

We have BT Infinity with about 40mb down although it sometimes loses connection but I've watched several movies in HD without interruption and, because our TV reception is crap, I often use the Chromecast to watch iPlayer live in HD.

Even when our wifi was playing up and we were getting much slower speeds we were still able to watch the Chromecast in HD without interruption.

I assume this is instead of the chromecast app but will still need the dongle.

I have a Samsung Tab 3 10.1 and Chromecast doesn't work very well. Sometimes you get a clear picture other times its fuzzy!
However on PCs and Laptops it works great.

Yes download both, the Chrome cast app won't let you stream movies from various websites, however All Cast will wink

Got the chrome cast from Gatwick on the way home tonight and it works fine on the Galaxy Tab 4 with all the apps I want it to.

Just about to test it on my iphone 5S now.

Ok so my iphone doesn't want to play. Both tablet and phone are connected to the same wifi.

When I open the chromecast app on my phone I have 2 options:

Dave's Chromecast (what I named it when connecting the tablet)
Connect new device

If I select the chromecast it gives me info about it but no option to cast my phone even with Guest enabled.
If I select new device it tells me to search for the chromecast in my wifi list but all I see is my broadband router.

The same is still the case if I stop casting from the tablet.

Only certain apps work - and you can't "mirror" like Apple TV.

Have you gone through the full Chromecast setup to connect it your WiFi network ?

Which app(s) are you trying to cast from ?

How does all cast let you stream websites out of interest? (I'm using an android handset).

Also, what are these movie sites you refer to?

From what I can see all cast only lets you stream local media. Can't get it to show the tablet screen at all.

To stream from the Tablet to the TV you need All Cast
