Our family kindly bought a "cctv set" which consisted of 2 cctv cameras and not a full kit like they thought.

We can't unfortunately spare the cash to buy a decent hard drive to have it running properly so was wondering if we got a coax to usb converter and ran cctv software (ispy I think it's called I've seen), would it register the cctv camera as a usb camera?

If not, any suggestions on what I could do except look for a cheap second hand hard drive unit?

I've not had much joy myself with these coax to usb things. I think it's because it's trying to convert an analogue signal into a digital one. I could just be me and hopefully someone will be along with a better solution

I could just get a really long usb extension and use a webcam I suppose in the mean time.

I forgot to mention - you'll probably need a power supply for the cameras.

£12.99 with free postage.

This will power up to 4 cameras simultaneously.
