Any recommendations for a GTX980m based gaming laptop for £1500?

Msi GT72 Dominator Pro, Asus G751 or even Alienware are all within budget but despite reading lots of reviews I'm still unsure.

I'm ruling PC Specialist out as they just dont seem like good value.

Thanks

I have an MSI GT72 Dominator Pro, slightly higher spec than the one you are looking at but its a good machine, powerful enough to run the latest games on easily, I can highly recommend it if you are after a gaming machine.

All that jazz

GT72 known for overheating issues. Runs very hot due to poor ventilation.

G751JY runs very cool but the red backlit keyboard is very marmite. I used one for a while and didn't like it all, nor the light shining through the front edges under the keys which is very distracting. Keys themselves felt cheap and I didn't like the feel of them. There's a thread on OCUK where other people have shared similar views including pics of keys actually snapping off! There are known sound issues with the G751JY as well which were supposedly fixed in the last bios update but other people are still reporting problems with it.

The GT72 does NOT have bad ventilation and neither does it over heat if you use it correctly (its raised at the back and the fans push the air out of the rear vents quite nicely).
If you are say sitting in bed and have the laptop on your knees then it will probably over heat, just like any other laptop does when covering the vents, you need a rest for them then, but I have never had any quality issues with my MSI and it has always performed beautifully (unlike the Asus seems to do, which is ashame as I only ever use ASUS mobo's in my desktop pc's frown )
