Still very happy with my first generation, hoping it should last me a good few years.

Some great pricing currently on the Apple refurb store for people who can live without the newer processors - http://www.apple.com/uk/shop/browse/home/specialde...

Had a nosey in the Apple store today - the Macbook is a thing of beauty - makes even the air feel chunky / heavy.

Really not sure I can cope with only the one usb port though....

for those worried about the feel of the keys on the Macbook, I would suggest you try a few different ones, I've had three now due to problems and they all felt slightly different to me (in the feel and travel of the keys) I expect Apple have been making subtle changes.

That gives me even less cause for optimism! It's not like you can try the one you're buying before you open the box.

No, but you can easily return any Apple product with no quibbles under their 14 days returns which covers in store and online purchases...

And how many might I have to try before randomly getting one with a keyboard I like? No, thanks... I'll wait and see whether the rumoured 15" Air comes with the same keyboard. I fear it might be the new standard for Apple laptops.

Just got one of these, a beautiful thing for sure. Coming from a surface pro I actually got quite worried when things didn't work, like tap to drag. Then I remembered, this is all laid out intuitively so everything is easy to find. No pissing about, it just works. Downloaded office 365 so hopefully won't miss windows.

Not sure about the keyboard but as someone says above, you get 14 days to test it out.

The keyboard has been my biggest concern coming from a MacBook Air, but after a few months I really love this laptop - the screen is lovely and I much prefer the aspect ratio compared to the 11"

Mine is great, goes gast enough, keyboard os no problem etc.

However, it stopped charging. Then (still with 62% battery left) I turned it off (to see if battery charging was a software issue and rebooting would solve). I could then not turn it on at all, no combo of buttons & power button would get ti going.

So, it's been picked up by Apple and I am awaiting a repair (or replace) all a painless exercise thankfully but I now have quiestion marks over their quality...... Hopefully it'll come back OK and never have problems again......

This trackpad is a flipping revelation, not sure I can use anything else. The force touch on words to bring the dictionary up is genius. With all the gestures I actually think there is no need for touch screen.

HI all, I have been using this Macbook for several months now and really pleased with the size and form factor particularly for travelling with work. It really helps with you are not lugging around a 1.6kg Macbook Pro from 2010 which uses up a massive portion of the weight allowance for carry on luggage on flights.

My question is I had read it is possible to charge the Macbook 12 from a portable charger such as one of these:

Has anyone had any experience with this and any "power banks" anyone can recommend?
