Well, 35p for the text message.

Fill yer boots!

To obtain the free to hire Power Bar, mobile customers must text POWER to 365. Broadband customers must text JOIN plus your EE landline number to 60005 and follow the instructions provided. Texts cost 35p. This mechanism is required to enable EE to (i) verify the customer is an existing customer; and (ii) provide a redemption code that customers provide to our retail agents when collecting the Power Bar.

In case you aren't aware - the Note 3 will charge fine using a mini USB charger lead. It just slots into the right hand side of the USB 3 connector on the Note 3.

I picked one up this morning, shockingly painless process other than the sales guys trying to flog me a "free" tablet.

I had no idea that I needed one of these but as it's free I sent the text anyway, that was 3 hours ago, no response yet

current status is that there is a huge backlog of texts awaiting response, but all should be responded to today.

For mini-usb ports only? can they be used for iPhones? Not clear on their site.

You'll need to supply your own Lightning cable for Apple products, but it will plug straight into the USB port no problem.

Just got mine. It's not exactly everyday portable but it's a nice to have for camping, festivals, travelling on trains/planes etc. Beware of the built-in torch, it's fking bright!

I bought something similar but it didn't have the ampage to charge some of my phone. Works fine for my Kindle and some phones, just not my new one and wifeys.

Same with my car USB curiously.

I have a 20000mah brick with 2.1a output which works a dream.

For info, the capacity of the EE bar is 2600maH which is the same as the battery capacity on my HTC M8.

Of course, thanks! A closer look at the pics reveal a normal USB port as well as mini.

Cheers!

Got my code, just popped out to the local store, and they're al gone.... in fact the guy said they were queuing out of the shopping centre doors! (probably some artistic license in that!)
So will have to try another store later.

What a really good idea!

None EE customers can get one for £20.

Handy to keep in the glove compartment or laptop bag. Or both! Hoping so at least as I have 3 lines on my account.

Guys, need to watch the terms and conditions:

"A Power Bar is made available to you on a free to hire basis, under the terms of this agreement, for a maximum of 18 months. After 18 months, the Power Bar must be returned to EE and the Service will end. "
:|
"If you don’t you’ll have to pay a charge to compensate us for replacing the Power Bar. Currently this is £5."
A bit naughty if you ask me, hundreds of people will get caught out by this.

Probably so churning customers don't get to keep it forever. I suspect agreements will be renewed when your contract is renewed. Dunno, probably an arse covering exercise.
