Mac res quality monitor advice

Hi

Looking to buy a monitor with decent enough res to use with a MacBook air and a Mac mini - so better than just 1080. Any advice on a good quality and reasonable price alternative to Apples 800 quid job?

Was in the same situation a couple of months back and wanted a monitor that not only had an IPS panel but also didn't have a glossy mirror covering. Went with the Dell U2715 27" IPS and have to say it's a superb monitor with excellent colour which I need for work, beats the pants off my old 23" Apple Cinema for colour accuracy and the high res just makes things look crisp though everything is smaller on screen but it's a fair trade off.
