iPhone 4S camera roll albums - How to delete?

Hi All

As per the title.

I have albums in the photos app on my iPhone 4s that I just cannot find out how to delete?

I have backed up all the photos without issue and the camera roll is fine but when plugged in via iTunes I cannot locate the albums or find any link to access them!

I cannot delete them via the phone, the only edit option is to add an album.

They are taking up a lot of GB at the mo' so need to clear them

Any ideas
