Just changed our hosting to a Cloud based system so gone from POP3 to IMAP email.
All was fine on my old machine for a few weeks, just got a new machine (win 8.1) and everything is ok except I get all my emails returned with either -
Server error: 550 relay not permitted or
The recipient has been deleted or has no email address.

All the settings are the same as my old machine and that is sending fine (sits alongside the new one), both machines receive fine and obviously connect with the server fine as they update at the same time.

Any ideas?

Please use basic language as I am no expert!

Have you got more than one e-mail account installed on the machine? I have had that message when I have had glenmh@privateemail.com set as the default sending account when I really wanted to send from glenmh@workemail.com.

When you say you've changed your hosting - do you mean that you now have a new email service (possibly with a new provider) ? If so - you probably need to change your outbound SMTP server settings to work with that new service. Your service provider should have told what the new settings should be.

ETA : that 550 error is an outbound error, so not IMAP. It's probably because you're not sending the correct account name & password to the right SMTP server.
