Win2000 was good.
Win8 isn't bad, its just different and not really suited to desktops or non touch laptops.
But your list kinda works as an internet meme I guess....
The notification doesn't mention any of the different SKU's but there'll be Windows 10 Home & Pro.
I've got Windows 7 Ultimate retail edition, so I'll be getting Windows 10 Pro but the million dollar question is....I'm building a new gaming rig soon, so will I be able to install a fresh copy of Windows 10 Pro with my Windows 7 product key, or will I have to install 7 and then do an in-place upgrade?
I just want to download an ISO onto a bootable thumb-drive, which I can fresh install onto an SSD, without all that tedious mucking about with a 'Windows_Old' directory.

Interesting about Windows updates being fully automatic for home users. Pro and Ent will have the option not to install but home users won't, it'll be done whether you like it or not...
I don't let my machines update automatically especially as it can often require a restart. I get the notification but normally wait to see if it breaks something for others before installing it myself.
I may just stick with 7 and 8.1 unless there's something compelling to make the upgrade worthwhile.

I read an article that states you will be allowed to activate Windows 10 with a Windows 7 key so you will be able to download the ISO and use your existing key to activate (you wouldn't be able to use it to activate Windows 7 again obviously).I've got Windows 7 Ultimate retail edition, so I'll be getting Windows 10 Pro but the million dollar question is....I'm building a new gaming rig soon, so will I be able to install a fresh copy of Windows 10 Pro with my Windows 7 product key, or will I have to install 7 and then do an in-place upgrade?
