Hi all

Wifey is starting up a new business and I need a printer that will print colourful/bright labels for jars/cakes etc etc.

Can someone recommend one, for the least amount of money as possible please?

Thanks

Check out Avery's range of labels and software: http://www.avery.co.uk/avery/en_gb/Demos/Software-...

Then I'd consider a colour laser printer: http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_0_13?url=...

Laser printed labels are less likely to smudge if you get them wet and have a slightly glossy finish which looks professional

Ooh good link, they look ideal.

I didnt know if a laser printer was better quality, but it looks like they are.

Thanks

Remember to weigh up the ink costs. Some Inkjets like the Epson Workforce can work out cheaper than a laser. It usually follows that the cheaper the printer the more expensive the ink.

Inkjets have a bad habit of drying up and wasting expensive ink by self-cleaning. I would have to recommend a colour laser to avoid the inconvenience. Xerox lasers tend to be cheap, and I have seen some of our clients use solid ink printers which promise to be cheap if you are printing enough volume: http://www.xerox.co.uk/office/solid-ink/miss-engb....

Having had a good experience with Brother mono laser printers at work, we have recently bought a colour one.

This Brother HL3170CDW can be had for £200 and comes with enough 'starter' ink to print 1000 pages.

Do watch out for the the 'starter' ink catch - some companies supply minimal ink to start with.

Also, as above - don't waste your money on an Inkjet (especially HP) as the nozzles dry up rapidly with lack of use. And they are not cheap to run.
