Glaxy s6 charging issue

This has happened twice now. I have the phone turned to silent and leave it in the case on the wireless charging mate go to bed and wake up in the morning with the alarm having failed to go off and the phone only 1/3 charged and warm to the touch. I am using the proper Samsung wireless charger too. I always make sure I see the message on screen that it is charging before I leave it too.
I could probably live with this if it wasn't for the fact it wont wake itself for an alarm call. My previous experia never let me down like this and would wake itself for an alarm if turned off.
So has anyone else had this or better still know how to fix it?

An issue with wireless charging is it can be very sensitive to the positioning of the phone, if it is saying it is connected it may not be optimised. However is there a chance it may be moved during the night? if its on a bedside table are you hitting the table in your sleep? this could be causing it to get displaced. Whilst it is normal for there to be a small amount of heating (possibly more than by cable) if it is getting too hot you should get it checked out.

If it is not this and you are sure it is in the correct place it may be worth talking to customer services to check there isn't an issue with the charger.

Simple explanation: wireless charging sucks. I had an S5 with official Samsung wireless back and wireless charging pad, and now I have an S6. Wireless is slow and the S6's slipperiness and the general crappiness of wireless charging means I almost never use it.
