Save As keeps crashing

When I'm using notepad for work and then go to save document it keeps crashing saying 'Save As is not responding' I then lose the file.

Any ideas?

Try opening an Explorer window, click the Tools menu > Folder Options then check "Show All Folders".

On Window s8 that would be click View > Options then check "Show All Folders".

Not sure, give it a try! 'Show All Folders' was just a suggestion that had fixed it for others.

Another suggestion - do you know when it stopped working? Run System Restore and restore your system back to a date when it worked. System Restore doesn't affect the files you work on, just the Windows system files, and irons out many problems.

Install Notepad++ instead and you'll wonder why you didn't ten years ago.
