Good point!

I have to say that the UK gets a bad deal with £10 vs the €10 that I pay in France.

Really getting into this now. I've had the "Rock" radio station on all day at work and probably added 20+ songs to a playlist of artist to explore further. It's been picking some stuff that really floats my boat that I had never heard of plus a few classics from my own library thrown in.

I've found the opposite so far; really trying to use it but found the audio quality with headphones on to be so-so and it's struggled to find anything new whilst suggesting some real oddities I don't much care for.

Not discounting it yet but much like Spotify when I tried it years ago it doesn't seem to add any value to my listening. I find more new stuff I like listening to Planet Rock and Kerrang on DAB.

Downgraded to IOS 8.4 today and now my car won't connect to any music or audio books. Utter fktards, just as soon as something works properly they have to go and fk it up. furious

What's Beats Radio (Zane Lowe) like? Similar to his Radio 1 show?

Not yet, but should do by the end of the year.

Pretty similar, I like Beats 1, there's more music and less talking than the BBC stations.

Just a reminder that the free trial runs out today (or yesterday, can't remember) if you signed up on launch day, and it's set to auto-renew unless you cancel it. I'll be renewing though. Use it daily and is worth £10 to me.

Cancelled. Back to Spotify.

Oddly for an Apple product I can't use it intuitively, and can't be bothered to fiddle. Spotify I found just worked.

Google announced it'll do a family plan, Apple hasn't come out with it's promised Android app yet. So there's no temptation for me to give it a spin. They missed a boat here, surely with these family plans they can't expect entire households having nothing but just iPhones?

Spotify is much easier to navigate. I'm totally used to Apple Music now but it wasn't a very user friendly experience which is unlike them. I wasn't going to bother renewing but I'm toying with the idea now. I've used it a lot more than I thought I would and like the fact it's all integrated with my existing music.

I've cancelled the auto renew and also iTunes Match; I found the whole thing a complete mess and when I recently upgraded my iPhone to a 6s I went for a 64gb so I could store all my music (and photos) locally so I didn't need to stream.

I know Apple have received a lot of criticism for the music app which in my view is entirely justified.

I have also let my Apple Music subscription lapse and will be sticking with Spotify, though keeping iTunes Match.

I can use Spotify on a wider range of devices (in particular Now TV), but what has swung it for me is the "Discover Weekly" playlist Spotify do. I ignored it when it first came out and am kicking myself now - it comes up with a nice mix of old favourites and intriguing new songs. I really look forward to it coming now - if only there was a way to browse through previous recommendations...

In contrast Apple Music keeps recommending music that I already own...

Ran it in parallel with Spotify Premium for a bit but as said above the Apple interface is awful and there's no Spotify Connect equivalent (which is just crazy considering all the iDevices it can be installed on).

Still controlling Spotify running on a Mac mini connected to a multiroom system with an iPhone.

Yes. I couldn't believe they'd not done that. It's one of the best features in Spotify.

Has anyone used this with the CarPlay head units?

I am quite happy with my Spotify subscription overall apart from the fact that the Spotify CarPlay app just does not seem to work at all. I'd get quite a lot of use out of Apple Music in the car (if it works) so might be worth the swap.

I'm only playing it through B&W earphones, B&W zeppelin Air and my BMW Aux in. So as you'd expect, great, amazing and s41t!

Typically B&W P5s or a first gen Bose Sound-thingy. Perfectly good for those outputs, albeit you can hear just how st the recordings of some stuff like 60s Yardbirds! hehe
