I need to re-instal Win 7. Can anyone point me in the right direction to download a 'safe' ISO image?

digital river web site used to be home to safe windows images, but it closed a few months back.
Looks like your only options are listed here:

Does the machine have a recovery partition?

If so you should be able to activate it using F8 from a hard reset.

Can you not borrow a key from a machine at work to download the image and the use your OEM key to install so that everything is legal?

You could download a torrent and verify the checksum so you know it's a legit ISO. All above board if you have the license key.

x17-59186.iso

I could build you a USB stick with it on if you cover costs.

For future reference , just ask Dell for an OEM Win 7 disk. I had to reinstall a 5 year old Dell laptop recently, I opened a support case by email explaining that it didnt have a recovery partition, they posted me out a Win 7 OEM DVD for free.
