I've been running the preview for a while, and its been pretty good. No hesitation in running it in a desktop environment.
However, I'm not sure how well its going to run on my tablet - W8.1 actually works indecently well on there.
Works pretty well on a Surface Pro. Swiping is a bit different but I'm getting used to not swiping from the right for charms. I wish it had the option for a swype style keyboard though. The touchscreen keyboard isn't the best and they have the swype style keyboard on Windows Phone 10.However, I'm not sure how well its going to run on my tablet - W8.1 actually works indecently well on there.
I've already signed my 8.1 laptop up to get the upgrade - it's sort of my guinea pig machine which is why it got 8 in the first place (god 8 was a pain - 8.1 is better but still not something I'm a huge fan of) so I think that will be my first Win 10 machine. I've also been meaning to do a fresh install on my main desktop (currently running 7) and given I'm probably going to be doing a bit of a hardware upgrade to it next month I might just do it all together and go for a clean Win 10 install on fresh hardware. It isn't normally The Way Things Are Done(TM) for me to take my main machine to a new OS that soon after release but I'm feeling reckless
I'll be upgrading.
Recently formatted my PC and reinstalled a fresh copy of Windows 7 so tbh I have nothing to lose. The little win10 app says I won't have any problems and I'm all up for giving the new OS a go and living with it.
I also own a Lumia 930 so looking forward to the upgrade to Windows 10 on that as well. The stuff from the previews I've seen look great and the whole integration between desktop and phone seem impressive and a step in the right direction. I'm hoping it helps to make developers look at Windows phone as an option rather than just dismissing it all the time.
