Mrs 2CV's new iPhone 6s 64Gb in Rose Gold arrived yesterday. Apparently when I got married I signed a 30 minute resolution SLA for all IT problems as as soon as I walked in the door from work she was demanding I transfer all her contacts, photos and everything to the new phone, as she was going out shortly. She actually got in the huff because I said I wouldn't be able to do it before then. It's OK though as I am WFH today so I have loads of time to do it
It happens with about 4 presses of the screen if you use icloud. Backup-Restore... done.thebraketester said:

Could possibly be the music, it's not all on the phone although I can see the track listing. Could be down to my woeful internet speed.

is there anyway to stop the iCloud backup restoration? It's been on my front screen for a week and have no idea what it's still trying to restore. I can't connect to iTunes as my computer is now to old and can't run the latest update, also tried the standard turn it off and on again, and a restart.
I really don't fancy a complete restore as it was complete ball ache with numerous password resets trying to get iCloud to work.
Mine lasted a while (couple days) and that was because I had a lot of music/photos/apps on my phone that were still backing up. Do you have all of your music and photos? Other than that I can't help.I really don't fancy a complete restore as it was complete ball ache with numerous password resets trying to get iCloud to work.

Ahh ok... fair doos. I was only mentioning the ease of the cloud backup thing because Ive only just started to use it myself, and now wonder WTF I was doing backing it to my computer all this time.
it is pretty good! ocrx8 said:
Tell me more - I went through the laborious process last night of backing up my 6 to the laptop - you mean I don't have to do this?
One of the annoying things with doing a full backup and restore is that it tries to restore to the level of iOS in the backup, so it was trying to install iOS 8 on the 6s! ZesPak said:
I always wonder people still complaining about iTunes and others like samsung sync, I'm like: I haven't hooked up a phone to my computer in years...
I was the same, in fact my PC broke months ago and I never replaced it. The problem is now Apple Music has deleted every album I ever sync'd meaning all I have is about 8 albums I bought from iTunes and they are not even stored on the phone, I have to go in offline mode for that. So my new 6S is going to cost me the price of a new laptop so I can get iTunes to sync my music back. Oh and then there's the multiple re-sync's when it splits my album over 2, misses albums that I've ticked, etc. I'm just supriced they let you use iTunes on a normal Windows laptop, they missed a trick by not forcing me to buy a Mac at a gazillion pounds to do it

I remember Jobs held it off for quite some time. There's also a couple of pretty funny quotes he made when it eventually launched:"the best Windows program ever"
and
"it's like giving a glass of water to someone in hell"
I've had my 6s for a few weeks now and I really like it; the screen is great, it's fast and I use Apple Pay most of the time with my Amex card....but I picked up my OH's iPhone 5 and I really miss the size - I struggle a bit with one handed use on the 6 and it is slippy so a case is for me essential.

Just so I have this clear in my head: You're going to switch banks because you can't use ApplePay with your (contactless) Barclays debit card?
This. Apparently also ignoring that Barclays have one of, if not the best mobile banking apps out there, on both Android and iOS.Barclays will be getting Apple Pay support eventually anyway, in the meantime I can't see how much extra hassle it is to get your wallet out your pocket instead of your phone

This +1The 5 is a great size compared to the 6. Heaven knows how people use a 6+
I hope the 7 comes in three sizes next year

Help.
I had my iPhone 5S for 2 years, and from day 1 I used an Incase 'Snap Case', which allowed me to place the phone screen down and not scratch the screen due to the 'raised lip' around the front of the case.. i.e. this:-
I loved the case, because it kept the phone immaculate, I could place it face down on my desk and not scratch the screen, and the crystal clear case, meant it still looked like an iPhone.
I've just got myself a 6S... It's slippy, and needs a case ASAP. Apple no longer sell the Incase Snap Case for the 6S, and it's quite a lot to ship one over.
I've just bought a Apple Spigen Thin Fit for iPhone 6s... Which is great, but it doesn't have the raised lip around the front of the case/screen.
Can anyone recommend a completely clear hard shell case, which has a raised edge/lip around the screen for a 6S please?
