Album art in iTunes, missing from iPhone

Running latest iTunes on a PC. I have all my music on there, all copied from CDs and all with album artwork. Until recently all the art showed on my iPhone 6 (running latest iOS). For some reason all the album art is missing from the iPhone 6, but it's all still there in iTunes.

The only album on my phone with art is that U2 album they pushed last year.

I also have an iPhone 4S running latest iOS synced with the same iTunes account. That still has all its album art.

I haven't knowingly changed any settings.

Any ideas, or is it just iTunes being strange?

I should add I noticed the art missing from the phone after syncing it.

I get that all the time, it's just itunes being itunes.....a buggy POS.

But copy tracks across to my ipod and itunes deletes the artwork.

I eventually plugged it into iTunes and un-selected the sync all music box which removed all my music from the phone. Once that had finished I unplugged it, then plugged it back in again and reselected the music sync box which put all my music back. Took an hour or so, but when it was all finished the artwork was back on my phone. Very strange.
