I'm sure I can make a VPN between two BT homehubs...
Discussion
I'm going to try and create a VPN between two BT homehubs. Is this a ridiculous idea? I'm confident it will work but have yet to test it. I just want to access my private network while away at another location, as if it were local to me. Seems like a good idea...
I plan to use these neat little Zyxel Zywall P1s ( link) that I have - one at each end with a pretty standard VPN configured.
The only issue I've got is establishing the VPN. Presumably this requires port forwarding (on the homehubs)? I'm also unsure how best to deal with the lack of static IP addresses?
Tell me this is a good idea??

There are some dynamic dns services which can get you round the static ip issue. Have you thought about using a Raspberry Pi? You can get a dynamic dns service to run on that along with OpenVPN quite easily. Very low power consumption and doesn't take up much space next to your router. If you are willing to spend more then you can get a router with OpenVPN support, such as the Asus RT-AC68U (needs a modem), then you also get then benefits of other functions and better wireless performance.
