Wileyfox Storm
Discussion
Having had the Swift a week (and I know this thread is really about the Storm...) quick update.
Apart from one thing... everything is great. Fast, works well as a phone, happy with the camera, right size. Not missing any of the functionality that more expensive models have.
BUT.. the GPS is absolutely appalling. No idea if its my one or they are all terrible. It looses signal if you go into a car, put the phone in your pocket, walk near large buildings. I'd like to think its me being stupid but can't think what I'd be doing to cause that.
Anyone else got one can confirm if its just me?

Ive no idea what this means.....lol.
He's asking whether the camera will spit out the raw data that the sensor saw without it having all the editing and compression that most cameras will do to produce a jpeg. The idea being that the raw data in whatever form its spat out in will have more information in it, so an image can be manipulated without as many losses or without the choices of the software on what the bring out (exposure, colour, contrast, saturation, shadow, highlight) and what to dropI cant imagine at this price point it's going to do anything like that

From what little I've been able to see it's entirely software related and may even be down to how Cynagon runs, but I don't know for sure. But it's not the 'will it won't it' that bothers me. If it doesn't I can factor it in and move on. It's the lack of a definitive answer - I've seen questions asked on Facebook, Twitter, these forums and responses to most of 'we'll get back to you.'
If Camera2API isn't enabled just spit it out. It'll turn off a very small percentage of consumers (yes, I'm one) but at they'll know rather than being left to guess.
How's the camera?
I fixed my GPS issue with the swift using a keep GPS alive app... so the only remaining issue is the camera which is a bit washed out at times. A relatively minor issue in a 129 phone. Interestingly same lens I think as the one plus x.
Anyway, how is the storm camera? And battery life ok?

Im in no way a seriously tech guy so if you have ant questions plz try to simplify them.
Ok so my 1st 2 days with it. It has a battery life similar to my Moto G gen 1. Screen is good, blacks look black, colors look bright and vibrant. Not as good as the Samsung super AMOLED on my last phone though. The storm does not have the micro usb cable issue the swift had. I've use 4 different chargers without problem. Its just as fast in real day to day use as my pals Moto X play. In fact he now wishes he had waited and saved the £70 extra he spent on the X play. The OS is good too. Full of useful extra options. It comes with a screen protector pre fitted. It looks to have been fitted by a blind man, full of air bubbles. So that was removed straight away. The backing is said to be sand stone texture, i find it a more rubbery texture. Any other questions plz free to ask. As for if it shoots raw? Not got a clue. On the camera though, its hard to believe its a 20meg unit. looks more 13meg quality!!!

If it keeps GPS alive all the time then doesn't it eat it's way into the battery life horribly?
I meant I use the 'keep alive' app when I'm using it for navigating. Otherwise it seems to get turned off / backgrounded and doesnt work well.If I'm not using GPS, then I wouldn't have the keep alive running.

Where did you guys get yours? Still showing as 'register interest' on the Wileyfox site and not yet available on Amazon, Expansys or Clove. If you get one a top tip is don't use the pre-installed camera application. Download "a better camera".
