So I currently have a 5s and have been due an upgrade for a while now but have been holding out for the 6s.

I already have an Iphone 6 for work amd after watching the recent press release I wasn't left really wanting one and to carry 2 phones thats will look exactly the same just seems daft. I have been looking at The S6 edge plus.

Has anybody made the switch and regreted it. Without looking at minute differences both phones are very capable and are of similar spec.

The only annoyances I can think of will be losing imessage I use that alot for group messaging. I know apps lile whatsapp can get around it but realistically that wont work.

The other as daft as it sounds are emoji's. I know Android had their own but from what I've seen they are not cross platform but stand to be corrected.

Has anybody else made this same switch? Are you happy? Do you regret it? Are there any other little annoyances that you have come across?

This will probably sound very biased..

But I see going to android as a step backwards eek

I went Blackberry, S3, iPhone 5, iPhone 6..

I had more problems with the S3 in the 6 months I used it then both iPhones for just under 3 years..

If you want an easy android experience don't get a Samsung.
Barebones android is fantastic but phone companies keep putting their own flavour over the top which ruins it.

Can you elaborate on easy experience?

I have a samsung galaxy tab 4 and I don't have any issues with the OS. My only issue with that is the responsiveness of the touch screen. I know a few people with samsung phones who have never had any issues and when I was in the shop today the phone seemed fine.

I went Galaxy S2-> iPhone 5S -> LG G2 and overall prefer android.

As mentioned above, some companies really love to add their own bloatware onto android. If you're happy with your iPhone, android one's might leave you a bit lost as not every app will work the same way and android lacks some of the nice things like a menu to edit which apps can access which features of your phone (though I'm sure there's an app for it).

As I've mentioed in otherthreads, my iPhone felt like a Super Nokia (IE: a phone with bells on), wheras Android feels like having a small desktop PC in your pocket (with all the flexibility but effort of getting it the way you like).

I would agree, the s3,s4 and s5 were pretty dreadful ime.
The s6 however is a very good phone.

I never got around how imessage became so popular, since it automatically excludes anything but Apple gear?

As for emojis, don't they get either translated by the app or send as an image? Either way, I don't really see the problem.

As for the S6, the iPhone fingerprint reader is slightly more accurate, in every other are it's no contest.

I have a 5S for personal and had a similar thought to you. I was offered a 5S or Galaxy S4 for work so took that option on the basis of why have 2 the same. I had it for 2 months before swapping it out. I have 2x 5S now until my pre-ordered 6S is available. Operating the Samsung was a pain and too much of a step down in my opinion.

Depends how much patience you have to pick up a new 'language'.

I use both. Neither one is better than the other, they're just different.

I like ios for some aspects, drives me up the wall in others and vice versa.

Sounds like you might miss imessage though, that could be a deciding factor depending on how much you rely on it.

Get a cheap android to see if you like the way it works first perhaps.

Except that Google will just push software updates even if its not compatible with the device. Lollipop has killed loads of Nexus 7 devices (3 in my family alone). That's less than years from being the best device on the market, to a paperweight.

Google's response has been to blame Asus, and Asus want £200 to look at your device.

The only option is to roll the software back yourself.

Motorola are pretty much your best bet these days for a "pure" Android phone IMO.

Moto G is great for the money, if you want something more on a par with an iPhone in looks and feel look at the Moto X.

I would think that using an iphone for work and an android for personal might be a bit confusing. Both OS have their pros and cons, but I would suggest sticking to one or the other if carrying 2 phones.

I don't see how Android is a step backwards? There are features on Android that existed long before Apple introduced them to the iPhone and claimed they invented it!

I personally find iOS a bit restrictive in terms of what you can do with it, but it depends on how you like to use your phone

I felt android was worse in many ways, I'm happy to had got rid of it

Samsung's customer service is not too good either, I know thats not android as a whole BUT it was an android phone, like I say, I had more problems with the S3 in 6 months then 2 iPhones over 3 years..

Apple is terrible. Android is better in every way and ime Samsungs are much more reliable than iphones.

Basically some people like Iphones and some like Android phones.

Its personal preference but Iphones are reknowned for being problematic and everyone I know that has switched to an android phone is happier with it.

True fanboy speak.

So why not try and pick it apart rather than just throw an adjective into the ring.

What can an apple phone do that a Samsung cannot???
