I'm using an old Cisco box that I had lying around. I'm actually looking for something more modern at the moment, but haven't decided yet, and would also be interested in what others are using...
Frankly, the Superhub3 is really rather good. Its Wi-Fi supports both frequencies, has a separate Guest WiFi SSID, has a basic firewall, DHCP, and a load of other common features. Frankly, if I didn't already own a DrayTek 2830Vn-plus I would be hard pushed to justify buying one, considering the overlap of the feature set (I don't use, or need, a fraction of the features that the DrayTek gives me). I'd recommend looking at what your Cisco box gives you over and above the features of the Superhub and then decide if it's worth buying your own kit to give you that or whether what the Superhub gives you is sufficient. Hi there - so out of interest what are you using for your router? (and why is it it better that the Superhub?)
I'm using a TPlink ac1200. This has been running fine for the last 4 months, and has not been rebooted once. The Virgin supplied Superhub was rebooted weekly, sometimes daily. The WiFi signal is also much stronger, and doesn't suffer from the bout of lost packets that the superhub did.thanks will look for one now

The free regrade/upgrade of my Virgin fibre completed today.
The email says:
"We’ve just increased your speed – from a nippy up to 152Mb to up to 200Mb.
"With your new speed, there’ll be no stopping you zipping round the internet, doing more of the things you love, whether that’s streaming, sharing, movie watching or more.
"And of course, it’s not just fast – it’s reliable too. More people can get the speed they pay for thanks to DOCSIS®3, the magic in our cables"
Hmmm. Not so sure about that one (see picture below).
Edit: That 110Mb/s isn't even repeatable; it's more like 103-106 when I repeat the test a few times.

I thought about switching back to Sky. But the savings weren't that great for my middle of the road package with 4 boxes . My 150mb broadband hasn't missed a beat & the boxes are maintained if they go pop, whereas Sky charge out of warranty.
One day I'll take a closer look and ditch the landline too as only over 75's actually call on it!

Been with Virgin on the 100mb (and weekend free phone) for the last few years - currently paying £40.33, with the letter saying it would go up another £3.49 in Feb.
Always been a rocksteady 100mb until a couple of weeks ago when it dropped to a steady 45mb (any time, any day). Wasted a morning on IT support who couldnt find anything wrong*, but said it would help if i had a new Superhub, instead of the old-school modem and my own Netgear router.
That arrived a few days ago, and im back at a steady, repeatable 104mb now (with the speed upgrade to look foward to next spring)
As for the money, i called up to moan about the fact i was charged £20 for the superhub (without realising they had credited me £20 to offset this already), and while on the phone he said "would you like me to reduce your bill anyway?" "Errr, yeah, why not?" So hes reduced it to £31 now, going up to £32 in Feb when all the prices go up.
Its worth phoning up for a general moan it seems!
'*st myself when he took control of my PC and his mouse hovered over "uTorrent", and then he fired up Chrome to do a speedtest and i had to say "no, use Internet Explorer to do a speedtest" (my Chrome runs through a dutch proxy so that i can access Piratebay & KAT etc!)
