My dad has had the same mobile number for over 35 years, he now uses it very little, and he's now with taltalk on a payg basis.
He's just come out of hospital, the phone wasn't working and I suspected out of credit, I've tried to top it up for him but have been told it's been switched off as its been 150 days since the last top up, (could have been used)
Is there any way I can get the number reinstated? For some of his old friends it's the only way they'd contact him.

Hmmm I had similar about a year ago on o2
phoning them and confirming some tricky questions such as which numbers had it called how did I top up what was last amount of top up got it switched back on for me. I also made damn sure I had a £10 o2 top up ready to go on the thing

The first commercial mobile phone was released in the UK in 1985, so this is impressive!

Sorry sums and wine don't go with me, same number since 1987.
Apparently he hadn't used it for a call for more than 180 days.
