Hamburger menus are a step back from the prior side swipe - there is a "single handed mode" which is similar to that used on iOS - and on there it looks a kludge, as it does on W10M.

Prior to installing W10M, I wiped my phone, went back through the various Cyan, Denim, etc. Installed only a few applications. And the store refuses to update some applications, it won't even let me delete them.

The swipe down menu is sluggish. No pureview processing on the standard camera application. It only records in full resolution. Apparently an update "is coming".

Overall the interface just isn't as nice as it was on WP8.1 (which was really rather slick in every possible way) - I'm really liking the W10 interface on both my laptop and tablet, but for me at least, they've taken a step backwards on W10M.
No hamburger menus on the current build, not sure when you last used it, but is all swipey for me. I just updated without a reset and still have all my old apps installed.

I agree on the lack of lumia camera app for reframing is a bit of a pain, but not majorly so.

Its no longer my daily phone, but I normally keep it on to check for updates and for a couple of apps that run better on WP than they do on Android. There was an update to the store, thats still burgered up ... (literally).

I recall the photos being amended a while back to remove the burger menu, so thats now showing inconsistencies between applications.

Overall W10M just doesn't feel as refined as its desktop/tablet counterparts - I'm really liking W10 in tablet mode.

So it is. Looks like they have nearly finished removing all the burgers though. I hadn't noticed it as I don't really use the store, just search for what I need from the app list search bar. Office still has burger menus, but IMO they do need them. And the fact they can now scale up using continuum looks pretty cool.

It is definitely feeling a lot more polished as release date nears, seems to run a lot smoother than 8.1 on the L1020 now.

I was under the impression that the burgers were the way MS were wanting to go. I think they're a little confused ...

Strange though, it doesn't run particularly well on my 1020. Overall very, very sluggish. Although the new camera app does start up really fast, which is handy. Shame that I can't set ProShot as the default camera - there is an option to set the "Default camera app", but it doesn't work (thats so Symbian - that had a similar option which never worked).

I think they wanted to go that way but had to listen to the user backlash against it. It was sluggish to start with, but seems to run sweetly now (I only upgraded yesterday afternoon). I was expecting to have to roll back, but am sticking with it. Edge is a lot better than IE for example.

It is still pre-release, so am sure more will get fixed soon enough.

This is depressing to read as I love the user experience on WP8.1 - to me it's the slickest of the "big three" by far so it'll be a shame if some of that gets lost in W10M frown
certain people will always have early access to any new hardware, but they would all be under NDA's

On a completely unrelated topic, I would HIGHLY recommend seeing W10 on the 950/XL before jumping to conclusions about performance.

A fresh install on my 925 was really slow and clunky. 25% of the time tapping on a tile saw the tile give it's visual feedback that it'd been tapped, but absolutely nothing happen.

Actually loading apps took an absolute age too compared to WP8.1

IMO W10M is a fair way off being usable at the minute, WP8/8.1 was well regarded as working very nicely on low spec hardware. I get the feeling W10M won't be the same unfortunately.

Edge is definitely better than IE. And settings is way easier to navigate.

Yes, it is pre-release, but it is REAL close to release. And the 1020 is what could be counted as entry level hardware these days, and WP always ran pretty sweet on all hardware. I'm not sure the same can be said for W10M - it just doesn't seem quite as efficient. Strange thing is that the main desktop W10 build runs exceptionally well on my tablet, and thats just running an Atom 3740D - not particularly fast in the scheme of things for "PCs".

I think Microsoft is on a roll. Maybe I have to give Win 10 M another go, but I'm missing some apps still frown. And Google is being a bh enabling the platform.

A complete lack of navigation gestures on Edge makes me beg to differ on a mobile device.

I could find no way of going back without using the hardware back button, and if you've exited the app, well then you're stuffed.

I couldn't find a way of going forwards either. At all.
