So I posted a topic a few weeks back asking peoples thoughts on switching from Apple to Android and it caused a bit of a mixed reaction.
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

So on Wednesday I bought myself the S6 Edge Plus. The plus being the bigger version of the two.

Like many on here I have been with apple for years and years and knew I would miss a few of the iphone features, Imessage, facetime and emoji's being the biggest.

You can't get away from how good the screen really is on the S6 edge, its fantastic.

Because I went for the plus I am still not used to the size of the thing and I can't use it one handed but I will get used to that in time.

I mainly use my phone for texts, calls, internet & email. My only gripe with these is the emails. I am yet to find an application that can always show all sub folders of my emails withouth having to expand them every time.

Another thing I overlooked was sending pictures and videos via imessage. These are classed as MMS messages on android and I believe I will be charged extra for these but yet to confirm this.

When I was looking at the differences between the S6 edge and the plus they are minimal, the plus has a bigger battery and an extra camera feature that allows you to live stream your camera to social media but you can get apps that do this anyway. The other differences are with the edge screen.
On the plus you can swipe out from any screen but the normal edge is only available from the home screen. You can also adjust the location of the edge tab up and down the screen on the plus where it is fixed on the normal s6 edge. I believe that is all the differences but happy to be corrected.

As I type this I have also noted that this does not underline spelling mistakes like safari does so apologies if I have made any but I am sure that is just a setting somewhere.

Overall I am pretty impressed with it and no regrets so far.

If anybody wants me to check or test something for them if they are also thinking of getting one I happy to help.

Nice, what made you switch? Do you find everything you want to do easily?

Most of our friends use WhatsApp or hangouts, as it doesn't discriminate between android or ios.

I have an iphone 6 for work and didnt want to carry 2 iphone 6's around so fancied a change.

I find them both very similar to use but the android OS is alot more customisable.

The emojis appear to work fine in the normal messages.

If you select the emoji you want it shows the iphone equivelant in the typing box.
