When's that? I may do similar as there were rumours Huawei and Google were investigating how easily the 6P seems to bend in certain places - I do wonder whether there'll be a revised version later this year... I'm pretty certain I want vanilla Android now too which I guess limits things somewhat to the Nexus range at the top end.

That said, I'm still really pleased with my M8. After two years it's still in great nick and running well. Should be worth £150 or so as well when I sell it on after my upgrade. In fact it's a shame HTC don't have a Google Play Edition of something new and premium to offer. If I leave HTC I'll be breaking a long run, I started with the G1, then G2, Desire, One X then One M8. In fact it wouldn't be surprising if HTC quietly stop making handsets, they've been struggling for several years now despite some very nice bits of hardware. I read earlier that the biggest Android phone manufacturers are Samsung, Huawei, Xaomi and Lenovo, accounting for around half of all Android handset sales.

Remarkably, Apple only have around 13% of the phone market - I'd have assumed it was a lot higher.

They do have about 90% or some ridiculous percentage of the profits though.

The lack of SD card is a major negative for me as well. EE are only listing the 32GB and as I've probably mentioned many times, if I buy through them I get a 40% discount so it's a no-brainer to buy through them. If they had the 64Gb even that would be fine.

Why does it seem that no one company makes the 'perfect' handset? It seems that there's ALWAYS a compromise somewhere where a handset which is otherwise-perfect falls down.

I bought, and have since sold one. AMAZING phone - it's just too big for me.

The best android phone though, and I'd say the best phone full stop at the moment. Gorgeous screen, great camera, great performance, nice feel. Ace.

Have you looked into the Moto X? Very similar to this, not as slim and no fingerprint reader but otherwise...

Isn't that what the 6P is? Huawei with stock Android...

I've seen it in reviews but I'm being a bit picky and wonder if it might feel like a step down from the 'premium' phones like the One M8, 6P etc? Since getting the M8 I really like the metal body rather than plastic - the Samsung S6 could tempt me if it did away with Touchwiz and had pure Android (like HTC's GPE for example).

Also people who've used fingerprints to unlock say it's brilliant with the right hardware. My Tab S 8.4 has a fingerprint scanner but you have to swipe down over the button with your thumb which is an awkward action and it's often easier to just tap in the PIN. I also use SmartLock at home so most of the time I don't need to re-enter any code anyway.

The 6P ticks nearly all my boxes; metal body, AMOLED screen, sensibly-placed and responsive fingerprint scanner, vanilla Android but I think I'll do as TN is and hold off to see what is announced next month.

I read it's likely Samsung will reveal the S7 and HTC the M10, it'll be interesting to see what's coming up.

After all this talk about getting the Moto X, I took the plunge for an offer on a new 32GB Aluminium 6P.

Received it yesterday, so far I'm chuffed. Looks to be a great -if incremental- upgrade from the Oppo Find 7a.

Paid €500 (£ 387) for it including VAT, which was a good deal imho. Loving it so far, the fingerprint scanner is impressive, much faster than the iPhone 5S I was used to (but I understand the 6S has upped the game as well).

The screen is great, I'm a fan of amoled and this is the best I've seen so far.
Other than that, vanilla android is a really great os. And its soooooo smooth lick.

Sounds like we've got identical kit then Zespak (6P+ Huawei Watch). You definitely got a good deal on yours at that price!

I have to say that I saw a S6 Edge's screen next to the 6P's the other day and felt it was even better although it would mean living with Touchwiz which is a deal-breaker for me.

I've also run into space limitations on the 32Gb for the first time today which was annoying after many years of having no such issues (One M8 16Gb+64Gb mSD card). If it keeps happening I'll sell mine and get the 64Gb version (which I'd have gone straight for if EE had offered it on contract).

I ran out of space on my previous 32GB Nexus 6, so I gritted my teeth and opened my wallet for the 128GB 6P.

Just bought one yesterday. Not got it yet, but worried about low headphone volume. How you finding it?

? I didn't know it was an issue.
Anyhow, I watch a lot of movies and listen to a lot of music using headphones, don't remember ever having it on full blast.

Couldn't find the post anymore but somebody asked me about the USB type-c cables I've ordered.
This one is great I have had no problems with it:

I also have a set of these which are really helpful, again, no problems:

Does the first cable support fast charging?

I bought the pukka Google ones for that reason but if the 3rd party ones do for that price I'll get a few.

Got a 6p yesterday, moved from a HTC M8, also have a nexus7 so like the Android way, pretty chuffed so far, especially with the battery life.

Are you me?

Exactly the same scenario, even down to owning a Nexus 7 as well!

I only have one charger that puts out the voltage, and I've gotten the cable with that.
I use these in the car and on the nightstand and stuff.

Guys I've also piled in coming from an M8. Had the phone about a fortnight now and loving it. What I really liked about the M8 was the dedicated car docking station which automatically fired up car mode when I slotted it in and charged it up too.

Is there anything that approaches that level of usability for the 6P?
