My wife does not do technology. She can look at a computer from 50 yards and it will BSOD.
She has had an iPhone for a few months now and gets on really well with it. She does not get on with her laptop!

Its only used for surfing the net and doing the occasional e-mail.

Which is better suited the ipad air or the MacBook air?

Also which is going to work better with her iPhone / iTunes?

Mine is fairly similar and loves her iPad but barely uses the macbook. There's a very nice (if pricey) macbook pro out that looks like a nice combination of the two....

If it's really only going to be used for internet and email then the iPad Air is great. Personally I type quite a lot and it drives me crazy, so have a Macbook Air. I know you can buy a keyboard for the iPad, but then what's the point?

You will still need a computer if you want to load your music etc.. with iTunes or other software.

Live always considered that an iPad (or similar) is for looking at stuff and anything with a proper keyboard is for doing stuff.

A bit simplistic but pretty true.

Thanks set up at the moment is that she has a larger laptop for work which is windows 7 and that's alright for work but she has a smaller laptop for surfing the web which is win8 and she hates it.

I think the ipad is going to be a good option but my only concern is typing and also the fact she has to hold it rather than place it on her lap.. hm..

ipad. MacBook air is just overkill for surfing. If she ends up wanting a keyboard just get a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard.

We have a Mac Book Air and an IPad. The IPad is much simpler to use and very similar to the IPhone which you say she likes.

Thanks looks like they may have gone. Anyone know why Amazon is so cheap? I would have thought Apple would have limited RRP?

Why does your wife need 128gb to browse the internet and email? You can get some cracking deals on Ipads now, the original Air is excellent and unless your wife wants a Fingerprint scanner, go for the original Air which should be much much cheaper.

She watches quite a lot of box sets and stuff - so I was thinking 128 but thinking about it 64 will probably do it.
That said I have no idea how storage works on an ipad as we have never had one before!
