Wifey - ipad or macbook air?
Discussion
Aaaand they only went and delivered it to the wrong address... not sure how they managed that given our company office has GIANT 3ft high letters with the company name on the roof and walls.... now I have to argue it out with them... <slow hand clap>
Should have just gone to John Lewis like a big boy with my big boy tokens and walked out with the item in my hand. FFS.

Well the admit they delivered to the wrong place. Someone got a very nice present!
They wont investigate any further (crazy) so just issued a refund.
Only problem now is the item is £35 more today. They wont give me a credit or voucher to cover the difference.
Surely you can argue that you purchased the item and would like delivered at the original price please. I would have thought that that would be a contract. They wont investigate any further (crazy) so just issued a refund.

I wonder if they realised they were selling too cheap so didn't send it at all.

Agreed. I'd push harder. Argos Outlet on eBay did me over in a similar sense - TV arrived smashed to bits but I had already sold mine! Wouldn't replace, only refund, only I now couldn't buy one from them for the same price as before, and I had set myself a strict limit.
They offered to do nothing for me even though I'd wasted two days sat at home waiting for couriers too. In the end I tore the managers head off over the phone, told him I'd never buy from Argos again and spent 40% more elsewhere on the same model!
The next day I regretted my stubborn decision, until the other TV arrived and was the next model up worth 50% more than I paid

sounds like someone fked up and they needed a cop out. Wouldn't order from them again. I wonder if they realised they were selling too cheap so didn't send it at all.
Other than that, if it's really for email and stuff, a MacBook Air will be 10 times nicer to work with than an iPad.
Have you considered a chromebook? They sound prefect for the use you're describing.

If she's happy working with an iPhone, I wouldn't complicate things with anything other than another iOS device.Other than that, if it's really for email and stuff, a MacBook Air will be 10 times nicer to work with than an iPad.

Does seem a bit wrong that they won't send you out another, not like Amazon at all.

I was just thinking on the sofa browsing/email, I find something as a laptop form factor a lot better for that purpose. I wouldn't say "complicate" and "chromebook" in the same sentence though, it's a device that runs Chrome .Does seem a bit wrong that they won't send you out another, not like Amazon at all.
Isn't amazon often a collection of sellers? Or is everything you buy there really from "amazon".
