I just could not be doing with all the knobs on ebay who would want money off for scratches etc. or threaten to complain/bad feedback!
Obviously they have not been turned on for at least 25 years (God I'm getting old...) and potentially solder may have dried etc.
If someone can make better use of it than sitting in my loft then fine by me!
I hate eBay selling of second hand stuff...

I like your thinking..........don't suppose you're thinking of selling your car!

Very generous!
I hope they get used and added to a retro geek collection rather than going straight to eBay for a fast buck!
As I told the Op, the first thing I'm going to do is show the kids how hard I had it as a kid! I was an Electron/BBC user more as a teenager, but was given a Spectrum that had been bodged together. for about 3/4 of the time it wouldn't work, but when it did I had a whale of a time. I'm going to get hold of a few games in the next few days; the usual car boot hunt for LPs is now to be opened up to Spectrum games!I hope they get used and added to a retro geek collection rather than going straight to eBay for a fast buck!

Hey Ivor, the box arrived today. I have a bit of a strip down job to do on the Spectrum as a few keys don't work but I managed to get it up and running! The kids were pretty nonplussed about the thing but I was in my element!
