To the guy who said "im not buying anything out of principle" you need a "rain-check" because unless you want to get rid of Halloween/Easter/mothers day/fathers day. Then stop acting like you can do something about it and enjoy the cheap deals.
No, I'm with him. It's grim, lowest-common-denominator, money-grabbing materialism.I don't expect to be able to do something about it but I can ignore the whole thing out of principle.
Halloween is another pain, Easter is when all the feckless drivers hit the roads and cause chaos (though I like chocolate but buy that anyway), the others are great if you are a greetings card company and even pubs with terrible food will make a killing on the people that suddenly nice to their old mam once a year.

Would like a 2TB USB 3.0 drive to plug into an Xbox One. Haven't seen any killer deals advertised yet.
This will be on Amazon Deals tomorrow, any good?http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00K087BM2/ref=gbps_tit...
No indication of how much the price will be reduced though.
PC World have a 2TB Seagate at £63, so that is my current yardstick.
Interesting diversification of views on this thread.
For me, there is absolutely no fking way I'm even considering battling my way through crowds in a shop to get a discount. Especially on a sodding polaroid tv!
However, I am in the market for a new TV. I've done my research and got a shortlist of potentials which I would have done anyway. When I have 5 minutes on friday I will check to see if I can source it online any more competitively than the outlets I've already found. If I can, I'll order it. If not, it will wait till another time.
No hassle, no stress, but 5-10 mins checking to see if I can save some money is no skin off my nose.

I don't intend on going to a shop...I will be black Friday buying from my laptop.
Which is all well & good until the website crashes under the strain. Last year I needed a new TV so decided to take a look at Curry's. Their website was operating some queuing system, after about an hour I got on but the deals were st anyway.I normally read through the ads on Thursday, then wait until late in the day Friday before wandering over to walmart. Rarely spend more than $20 and come back with more tupperware and SD cards, usually.
This year laz-y-boy have 25% off and I need a new couch, might wander over there at some point.

Smart Thermostat, preferably a Hive 2 although if the Nest is reduced (there's a new model out, however the previous version would be fine) I might be tempted by that.
I have heard that the Nest should be on for a pretty decent black Friday deal.I will post it up if I find it!

When I was a kid Halloween was a complete non event, now there are hoards running around 'trick or treating' or begging as I prefer to call it. As well as shops full of any cheap st plastic tat they can import from China, I have even seen Happy Halloween cards for fks sake!

A 980ti graphics card (or two). Not sure where would have the best deals involving need to get on them quick if there is any real discount. Plus need to get water cooling block(s) for it/them.
Any suggestions where to monitor for them appearing cheap on Friday?
Overclockers have some decent discount on the Zotac range if that is any good for you.Any suggestions where to monitor for them appearing cheap on Friday?
