Strong possibility it would - thats one of the reasons the carriers have custom roms
Cheers.

If I tried it, presumably it would be just as easy to stick the EE firmware back on?

I think you'd be best taking a full ROM back up first. Obviously.

AFAIK, yes.
Yup, however if you "downgrade" the version you definitely lose all of your app settings/data etc. I'm not even sure if you lose it all if going with a "sideways" move from a generic to carrier specific rom of the same version. I've only ever "upgraded" using odin and never lost any data doing so.

O2.

Not noticed much difference so far. WhatsApp looks different, but that's about it. The fonts and settings screens too, obviously

Battery life is looking iffy - I barely managed 10 hours yesterday with light use....

Also - I use my phone for reading and the "touch the side of the screen to turn the page" option doesn't always work. Arse.

Received on vodafone today.

Its not on there yet, but it will appear here: https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G9... so keep an eye if you don't want to wait for OTA.

I hung off updating mine using Odin as the mod on sammobile suggested that if I put a UAE ROM on the phone the warranty would be limited to that region.

I'm glad I waited as I got the update yesterday and I'm underwhelmed with the updates so far. Anyone waiting for their phone to get it I wouldn't be too disappointed.

The settings menu is, I think, a bit of a mess - also the quick menu (where you pull down) isn't as clear as it used to be.

Anyway - As an aside - When I get notifications, I get an audible alert and a discreet flashing light which isn't very obvious. I used to use the Glimpse Notifications app to light up the screen when I got a notification which I found really useful - I seem to get it for texts, but not for anything else.

I've had to remove Glimpse, as I think it didn't work with Android 7 as it seemed to hold the screen open and the timeout function stopped working.

So the question is this - Is there any way I can get the phone to, natively, show on the screen the notifications for certain apps?
