remove micro sim from sim slot

in my hamfisted haste to setup my new phone, I put an unregistered micro SIM directly into the SIM slot of my HTC One M7, ie not on the SIM tray.
All the jiggling and cajoling in in the world won't move it.
Any thoughts before I dash it against the wall?
