One I had just now from noreplay@
It wasn't. That's just the spoofed sender address.

I thought a proper spoof would have come from noreply@?

My Mac got some unwanted malware last week. I followed a link from a photographer's website (One I've bought prints from) to another site (to look at the RNLI project work by Jack Lowe, a master printer. Instead of taking me there it went to some pottery site called fragilepottery, which then took over the home page and search page defaults of both Firefox and Safari.

I changed these and eventually stopped it going to their sodding site but had two pieces of malware picked up, quarantined and then deleted. It tok a while to find all the places it had hidden the main culprit - AppSo.

Annoying that following what probably were legitimate links from a kosher site has been screwed and leads to this.
I thought Mac's were ace because you don't need anti-virus etc?

If you are concerned about your Apple ID being compromised you can set up 2 factor authorisation - that way anyone trying to log into your account with your username and password would also need one of your devices to hand.

Maybe now we do (just had a message from Intego about another scam conning people into installing shareware on Macs by putting up kosher looking Adobe Flash Is Out Of Date messages), but still way better to use than the hideous Windows machines I had to use at work until I went my own way last year, my Dad's awful Windows 8 Dellbacle and the kids' not-ACEr laptops. So frustrating they got sold and swapped for iPads.

Might be great for geeks who wan to tweak and tune everything, but for a user who just wants to get something done easily with a nice interface...

I realise I have now helped this to become another of those pc V Mac debates, so I call "Hitler"!
