So the impulse must have buy of mine that was the Apple Watch has now found itself spending more time in the junk drawer than on my wrist.

Can anyone else empathise with this or am I just missing the point of the Apple Watch?

Well, you haven't actually said why you are bored of it.

Well that's it really. I just stopped wearing it. And now it's in the drawer.

What'a the resell value like? I wanted one to play with, but couldn't justify the cost. If there are people like you who are bored already, may have a scan through Gumtree.
Quite strong I believe (until the release of the next Gen is announced).

Scary: You quoted before i posted smile

Edit: The basic model seems to be about £200, not bad from £300 I guess.

I purchased a Smartwatch 3 about a year ago. Wore it for less than a week. Didn't help that it's the ugliest, blandest watch ever designed. smile

I know what you mean...

I found an excellent deal on an apple watch just before Christmas - it was cheap enough to try and see what it was like - i've not worn it in weeks, just don't really see the point of it.

Yes, totally empathise.

I bought one and, under Apple's return policy, returned it. I tried it for 2 weeks.

I wear a decent Swiss watch, so was firstly concerned that I'd miss having a good watch on my wrist. But that wasn't really the issue, I just felt it was a bit gimmicky somehow.

Bought mine early on.

Wear it frequently during the day, and I have two nice "dress" watches for special occasions/when I feel like wearing them, but the main benefits for me are:

1. I enjoy the fitness app. This was the killer app for me and without it, I wouldn't have bought it. That and the fact that I don't need to take my phone into the gym to listen to my music, just bluetooth it straight off the watch to my headphones.
2. I use the Notifications to save me having to pick up the damn phone all the time. Much less intrusive - quick flick of the wrist lets you know if it's worth bothering with.

I turned off the hugely annoying phone option because I don't want to look like some dodgy spy/tt talking into his wrist.

I think all the third party apps are completely pointless, far too small to be of any use. I only have the default apps installed and as such, the battery lasts 24-36 hours or thereabouts. Reasonable for my use.

I wear mine all the time, OK its a bit clumsy/big but invaluable when paired with a phone.

The opposite. I've not worn any of my Swiss watches since getting the Apple Watch.

Same here - forgot to put it on the other day and really missed it.

I suppose it is just "horses for courses" but I can't help feeling like a bit of a t@#t wearing the Apple Watch, if I am totally honest.

The only good thing being that it's not made out of gold. If it was then I would feel like an even bigger t@#t even if I was wearing it or not just for having simply purchased it in the first place.

Same here. Got one for Xmas from GF. Waste of money. It looks cheap and nasty and like a child's watch. None of the apps do anything of any use and , worst of all, you have to leave Bluetooth on your phone for it to work which makes the already st apple batteries even sttier. Mines sat in a drawer and the Steinhart is back on my wrist. She hasn't said anything yet but I'm sure she's noticed

I must be wearing a different Apple Watch because it's really a beautifully designed and finished piece.

Each to their own.

I love mine. Can put music on it so no need for phone in gym, can answer calls, Siri albeit slow, one press record is useful, fitness stuff good and I could go on and on. No need to take phone out while I have the watch on. I got the black stainless because I thought the silver looked cheap but maybe I was wrong, who knows. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Gave mine away recently. At first it seemed more fun than useful but the battery life is terrible.

It was the stuff of science fiction 20 years ago but I can't help thinking it's so far away form what it could and will be that this version is more of a fad until they releases something revelatory.

Now the ones my kids buy in 20 years time...well, that will be something else.
