No, afraid not. I have a BB and asked the question.

No but often it will cost a council or authority more fighting this when they ticket them for it when the blue badge holder appeals.

I must admit when I find Blue badge holders or others parked blocking loading bays meaning I cannot deliver the food items to the cafe/sandwich shop/pub/school etc I have great pleasure in blocking them in and taking the required tachograph break often to their frustration.

No they can't. Had that while unloading in Colchester High Street a couple of years back. Traffic warden slapped a ticket straight on him. Considering they can park absolutely anywhere else, why do it?

Disable can use some loading bays in London eg red route loading bays.

It depends on the local authority, some allow it, some don't.

Speaking as a former parking warden, blue badge holders aren't allowed to park in area set aside for other purposes. i.e. loading bays, taxi ranks, bus stops etc. wink

Top work. I bet they enjoyed that! I can think of a very busy high street near where I work that is made a mockery of by errant blue badge holders parking where they like. They dump the cars willy-nilly and block all the (empty) buses from getting through. It's high time that sort of 'park anywhere' right was restricted, as the condition of not causing an obstruction seems to be ignored on this particular road.

You take great pleasure in blocking in disabled people and those who are helping disabled people to get around?

Sounds like you're as big a moron as the blue badge holders parking in the loading bays!

Hi Phil

Sometimes delivery drivers have a very small window of time at each drop (I understand from someone in the industry, tesco for example give firms a 10 minute window for certain goods, and if they are not there on time and unloaded, they don't get to deliver and lose the money) so I can see why the guy gets annoyed. A blue badge gives you the option of parking in restricted areas, it doesn't provide licence to park like a dick, common sense says they should still think before blocking loading bays, just like a fire access or escape, or ambulance bay
