I went with a Nexus 5X.... In almost every way it is a better phone (I came from an HTC One M7) apart from the screen responsiveness - it's sometimes slightly confused - but that's mostly in games. One other annoyance - I develop some apps and I just cannot get it to accept apk files via bluetooth - but as far as I can tell it's an inbuilt security issue as it were.

Did you buy this sim free? My upgrade is due soon but Three do not offer it.dontfollowme said:

I'm quite keen to see what the next Nexus brings; I like my 6P a lot but I'm struggling with capacity (I thought I might but chanced it with the 32Gb on EE) and I know there will be an updated version later this year. I also have reservations about how it's wearing - the top edge is looking a bit worse for wear and it's not even 6 months old yet. I think it's because it's a PVD-style coating over the alu body which doesn't seem to be very hard-wearing.
Other than that it's ace - great screen, super-smooth and fast. I'm also convinced the back is the best place to put a fingerprint reader, it's perfect.

The OP3 will have Oxygen on it though which on the OP2 was a massive step backwards from Cyanogen on the OP1. The next big Nexus might be a good phone though, does anyone know who it's going to be made by? I heard HTC but I can't remember where I heard that from.

I could live without mSD slot with more on-board - had EE done the 64Gb I'd have had that without a doubt, possibly even the 128Gb.I like 'premium' phones (metal chassis etc) and I specifically wanted stock Android. Not had a look at Huawei's non-6P phones at all but maybe I ought to. Guess they skin like HTC and Samsung do...?
I've just made the step from a HTC M8 (which I really like) to a Samsung S7 Edge. I looked at the M10 and it just didn't feel as robust as the M8, it has lost that 'quality' feel and given that nobody actually stocks the M10 (apart from carphone wherehouse) which gave me some concern on back-up, I've gone with the Samsung.
Only time will tell if I should have stuck with HTC!

Could also convert it to the One M8 Google Play Edition which would be stock Android like the Nexus - if foxsasha is after no bloatware and such this would probably be the best route?
M8 with GPE installed is really good. MattyB_ said:
So anyone bought one? Some reasonable deals going - Mobiles.co.uk have it for £31/month with 3GB data on O2.
Very tempted to replace my aged HTC One.
Do you know how that works? I am on O2 at the moment and have been for a long time but they don't offer that deal in their own store. So how would I go about getting it and keeping my number. I am going to guess it'll require taking a new number and contract out rather than just pinning my number to a different O2 contract?Very tempted to replace my aged HTC One.

I was with O2 then took out a new contract (on the deal above funny enough). Just rang to cancel the old contract and was asked if I wanted to transfer my number. A few minutes later and it was done.I'm usually in a position where I've let a contract run long while I await a new HTC release, this time I have 6 months in the bag to see what happens with the 10 when it's out in the wild.
I previously went from M7 to M9 and have been generally disappointed with the M9, not from a spec point of view but reliability. My M7 was flawless, the M9 has had issues with rotation not working, the camera crashing constantly, vibration failing, overheating at random to the point where you just have to let the battery run out so you can use it again. HTC support have been useless.
The camera is probably my biggest gripe - the hardware is capable of taking decent shots but the software appears to think otherwise and forces me to tinker with SnapSeed to bring our detail, colour etc that makes the results on a par with the vibrant shots my wife's Samsung S6 takes on default settings.
At the present time I'm really not sure where I'll go from the M9 - I'm hoping someone brings out a super phone in the next few months but I'm watching for M10 feedback with interest.

Enough of not being able to send the 5X apk files via bluetooth and I really got on well with the HTC Mail client.
First day of use, but loving it so far.
How are people getting on with their phones?
I really need to replace my M7, and it’s the M10 or the Galaxy s7. My heart is saying stick with HTC (after 7 years of them) but my head is saying it’s time to move on from HTC and try the Samsung. Waterproofness and much greater availability of the Samsung appeal although the back seems to be a finger print magnet, not an issue on the HTC.

S7 is a great phone and I fortunately got one. The screen is fantastic as well as the camera. For common usage, the battery can last for a whole day.I really need to replace my M7, and it’s the M10 or the Galaxy s7.
