Oneplus 3 invites and chatter
Discussion
I'm a little bit annoyed with Oneplus, although it's mostly my fault for not RTFM.
I have a couple of portable battery pack chargers and these, along with the charger in my car needed USB-C cables. No problem I thought, I'll order up some decent quality ones from Anker and while I'm at it I'll get myself a 6' cable for the charger by my bed.
I rapidly discovered that the Dash Charge feature needs the plug and the cable to work properly, tying you in to only using the cables that OP sell. £13 per cable? No thanks mate.
So yeah, my own fault but still a bit of a warning to anyone else that wants more cables and wants to keep the Dash Charge feature.

I've developed some problems with mine over the weekend.
The dash charging is no longer working, I just get the slow regular charging.
The battery is discharging much quicker than it was previously.
And the speaker is no longer working.
Looks like I'll be opening up a case with customer services, though based on what I've heard I'm hardly holding any hopes up.

Yeah, and I think if it's attached to the proper plug it does get a faster than 'normal' charge. I'm just a bit mugged off at the fact they did something proprietary when I'm sure they could have made it work with a standard USB-C cable.
Not really as a standard USB-C cable is only spec'd for 3 amps. Dash charge uses 4 amps to charge as quicky as it does and hence requires a cable that has physically thicker copper in it to carry it. Rick101 said:
Just ordered a Powerbank so will check if it dash charges or not. The Powerbank puts out at 4A and the cable is the 'upgraded' dash charge one.
Not really fussed if it doesn't, as long as it works.
To report back. Not really fussed if it doesn't, as long as it works.
Using the dash charge cable and a Anker Powercore 20100 the phone screen does not show dash charging when connected unlike when you use the dash wall socket.
I have however charged from 15% to 100% in about 90 minutes so it does charge at the higher rate.

I don't think there's a thread for this yet...

OnePlus 3 price and release date
CNET en Espanol got an exclusive interview with OnePlus Co-founder Carl Pei. While he didn't disclose any details about the design of the OnePlus 3, Mr Pei did disclose an estimated launch date; the end of the second quarter of 2016.
There's no information on the OnePlus 3 price yet, but we would expect it to offer similarly good value to its predecessors.
OnePlus 3 design
Some early conceptual renders of the OnePlus 3 design were leaked in December 2015. They leave much to the imagination, but it would appear that the company has discarded its trademark sandstone black back in favor of black brushed steel. What the sheer white face on the left-hand render below means is anyone's guess.

The renders do clearly show that the fingerprint scanner no longer sits at the base of the front of the device, leading to speculation over how the company plans for the new device to be unlocked. It's possible that it could employ iris-recognition technology or even an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor embedded below the screen.

Excitingly, front-facing speakers can clearly be seen below the screen.
Earlier, in December, a concept video leaked showing the possible design of the OnePlus 3. It gives us a glimpse of slick, curvy device with extremely thin bezels. The video further hints that the OnePlus 3 might go with a brushed metal back, and we can also see a dual-tone LED flash and USB Type-C charging.
I almost got a one, then a two, then an X but have so far stuck with my now ageing HTC One M7.. It could be this or the HTC 10 or whatever it's called!!
