As I understand it, you can either buy direct from the vendor or they have agreements with certain vendors from whom you can buy reference hardware that has been certified to work with the software. From several conversations I've had, this is usually DELL, Cisco and Lenovo.
We sell our own appliance and OEM with Dell (called their XC platform) and with Lenovo (called HX platform) or we certify on C240 and C260 from Cisco.

Hello again from Nutanix - happy to take it offline to understand if we can help with any questions you may still have. I wasn't directly involved with any POC but more than happy to have a chat. 2016 will have a rudimentary HCI capability with storage spaces built in so if you want something that's 100% MS that might be a good one to go for.

As others have suggested the value is in the software not the hardware. Yes you can buy a bunch of servers cheaper but that's like saying I can sell you a load of bricks when you actually want a house. Happy to answer more questions and correct any misconceptions in the thread from others smile

No worries. I'd be keen to know what we missed so we can send any suggestions to product management or I can address with the account team you worked with. Entirely up to you but if you'd like to just drop me a message offline. Best of luck with the project.
