17 meg Broadband
Discussion
17 meg download limit? Are you sure?
It sounds as though you are getting download speed and data allowance confused.
17mbit/s will be your download speed, and you will have a data allowance of 10GB, meaning that you can transfer a maximum of 10GB in any given monthly billing period.
I just looked on the BT web site, and the limit for even the most basic package is 10G.
And if the wireless has been 'cracked', surely it's your responsibility to ensure it was something complex, to avoid being cracked?
It sounds like you're blaming BT for something that is essentially your own fault, with all the threats of cancellation etc.
They email you with warnings at certain limits:

just to clarify , Daughter was on the cheapest package , and within 3 days , with little usage of the internet , had exceeded her monthly allowance ,and got the heads up warning , and later ,in 3 or so hours of usage had racked up a further 10gb of data
all this on an up to 8meg connection .
Cancelled BT and signed Virgin , same as me . £50 each bonus and 50meg unlimited , TiVo box and free calls weekend
all this on an up to 8meg connection .
